April 22-26, 2024 is Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week (APAW), a dedicated week to recognize, appreciate and advocate for those who work with young people during out-of-school hours.
Research shows that skilled and knowledgeable program staff are the backbone of program quality and are key to desired positive youth outcomes.
Why is it important to recognize Afterschool Professionals?
An estimated 7.8 million children participate in afterschool programs each year; for every child in an afterschool program, two more are waiting to get in. Every young person deserves quality afterschool experiences that positively impact their development. It takes skilled professionals to create these experiences. Because of the important role afterschool professionals play in kidsâ lives, they deserve recognition and support!
On Thursday, May 2 at 6:00, the MACA Choir presents A Night of Disney in the MACA gym. Admission is $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for students (ages 5-18).

MACA parents/guardians: Testing time has arrived! Testing begins on Monday, April 15, 2024. Please review the LEAP test information for the dates of testing for each subject. It is very important that students be in attendance and on time daily. MACA's blood drive scheduled for tomorrow, April 11, 2024 will be postponed to a later date.
With school being closed on tomorrow, the MACA's 18th Annual Dance Concert entitled "Road Trip" has been rescheduled for next Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at 6:00 pm. We look forward to seeing everyone there.
