Vocal Music Instructor - Corliss Smith

The Magnet Academy for Cultural Arts Vocal Arts Department is a program that supports students who are talented in vocal music.  The curriculum prepares students who may be interested in going to a college or conservatory upon graduating from high school.  MACA vocal students learn classical singing technique, music theory, and sight reading.  Students perform various types of vocal music including but not limited to musical theatre, contemporary/ commercial music, and classical.  Every year the vocal arts department has a holiday concert, spring concert, and a vocal showcase in the fall.  Students also have the opportunity to sing solo repertoire with the instrumental and dance departments.  In addition to their performance opportunities at school and in the community, MACA vocal students compete in regional and state vocal competitions and district solo and ensemble festivals.
