On February 24, the PBIS Committee will host a Mardi Gras Mambo Party. Students may redeem 20 Dojo points to participate. Participants are encouraged to dress to impress in your most festive Mardi Gras Attire!

The PBIS Committee hosted Picnic on the Green for students who demonstrated positive behavior during the month of January. Students redeemed 30 Class Dojo points to participate. They brought picnic blankets and snacks while playing fun outdoor games. Great Job students!

We're super excited to announce our 1st Annual Student Arts Expo will happen on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 10 AM to 3 PM on the Opelousas Courthouse Square. We are so very thankful of the Acadiana Center for the Arts for making this happen. There will be school bands, student artists, our robotics teams, and so much more. This event is free and open to everyone! Please come out and support our students and bring friends!

MACA will have its annual Black History Program, " A Celebration of Culture," on February 16, 2023 at 6:00 PM. Admission is $5 (cash only). Tickets can only be purchased at the door. There will be no online ticket sales. We hope you will come out and watch.

Good morning GCES! This is a reminder that Ms. Melissa Boudreaux, Bud 577, is unable to run her afternoon route. Parents will need to make arrangements to pick up those students. Wednesday, February 8, is our Valentine’s Picture Fundraiser. For $5 per picture, students can take Valentine’s Day themed pictures. A 4x6 will be printed on site. Students may wear Free Dress on that Day, only if paying for pictures. Thursday, February 9, we will have a Zydeco Zoom Program for students in grades K-4. As a part of our African-American History Celebration, Students are encouraged to wear Black History shirts or red/Green/Black shirts with uniform bottoms.

Good Afternoon GCES! Tomorrow, January 27, 2023, students may wear Free Dress for a donation of $2.00. A donation will be presented to a family within our school community who experienced a house fire. Please show your support. Wednesday, February 1, we will have early dismissal at 12:25 PM for Staff Professional Development. We will celebrate the 100th Day of School on Thursday, February 2, 2023. Students may dress as if they are 100 years old or wear shirts with 100 items. Friday, February 3, we will have a PBIS Picnic on the Green. Students can redeem 30 Class Dojo Points to participate. They can bring snacks and a blanket to enjoy the picnic. There will be games setup for them to enjoy as well.
