Magnet Academy for Cultural Arts

This year the St. Landry Parish School Board will host a summer learning program for children in grades K through 8, providing not only Language Arts and Math tutoring in a small group setting but also enrichment experiences that will enable students to excel in the 2021- 2022 school year. Students will have opportunities to take virtual field trips, learn about science and technology, engage in social living projects, play sports, and develop an appreciation for art, theater, music, and more. The 4-week program will be offered June 7th through July 1st. Students will be offered transportation to and from the program, and meals will be provided. MACA parents, Students in 7th through 9th grade can sign up for Math tutoring. Applications went home today with students. It is on a first come first serve basis. The deadline to return applications is Thursday, March 11.

MACA Parents and Students, Please be advised that all face to face 9th & 10th grade students will return full time on Wednesday, March 10.

MACA Reminder: 11th and 12th grade students will take the ACT test. In addition, students will complete the non-test tasks on Wednesday, March 3 during English class.

February Hybrid Schedule

A Message from the St. Landry Parish School Board Office: The St. Landry Parish School District will transition 12th-grade students to daily in-person learning Wednesday, February 3, 2021. This group will be going to school five days a week along with our Prek - 4th-grade students. Students in grades 5 through 11 will continue to follow the hybrid A/B schedule until further notice. Any twelfth-grade student currently enrolled in our St. Landry Parish Virtual Learning Academy (SLPVLA) that would like to return to face-to-face instruction should contact their school-based administrator by Friday, February 5, 2021. Any twelfth-grade student who is currently hybrid and wishes to attend the SLPVLA should contact their school-based administrator by Friday, February 5, 2021.

Good afternoon MACA parents and students. Please be advised that 7th and 8th grade students will take the Math Interim test beginning on Monday, February 1 (A group) and Tuesday, February 2 (B group). 8th grade virtual students should report to school on Monday for 11:45 am. 7th grade virtual students should report on Tuesday for 7:45 am. Reminder: The deadline to exit St. Landry Parish Virtual Learning Academy in preparation to return to in-school learning is tomorrow, January 22, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. You must visit your child's base school to unenroll. Students returning to in-school learning will begin on Monday, February 1, 2021.
