đ JEAN DAY đ
Friday, September 27th
Remember, no rips or tears!

đ MACA and Northwest JAG students had an incredible time at the first annual Parish Government Day yesterday! đïž Our students had the unique opportunity to hear from our Parish President, Mr. Jessie Bellard, along with many dedicated parish council members. They toured the courthouse, jail, clerk of court, and Delta Grand, gaining first-hand insight into the important roles of public servants.
To top off the day, we were treated to some delicious gumbo! đ„Ł A huge thank you to our St. Landry Parish government members for making this day possible. Our JAG students learned so much, and we are grateful for this memorable experience!

The MACA Library is excited to announce some great new updates including a new section of books on how to draw, shelf displays showcasing books for each of MACA's talent areas, and over 100 new books added to our catalogue with even more on the way!
Whether you'd like to check out one of our graphic novels, do research about a potential new hobby, or print out your science study guide, there's never been a better time to visit the library.
The Library is open every day during both lunch periods and before school Mondays and Fridays.

đ Great energy at todayâs staff meeting! Our teachers engaged in productive collaboration during PLCs, utilizing the High Quality Professional Learning Cycle Tool to enhance their practices. The Instructional Leadership Team also shared their long-range plan, setting the stage for our collective growth and success. Excited to see how these initiatives will impact our students!

đ Reminder to all students! Our drama club meeting is after school tomorrow until 4:00. This is your last chance to join us and get involved in the action! Donât miss outâhope to see you there!

đđŹ Exciting learning in action!
Our 8th grade students are getting hands-on with geology by creating sediment! They'll use this sediment to model how it forms sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous rocks through the natural processes of the Rock Cycle.

Last week, our students had the opportunity to explore "life maps" created by our JAG students. These inspiring visuals remind us that to know where weâre going, we must understand where weâve come from. Itâs a powerful way to reflect on our journeys and set future goals!

đą We had a productive meeting with six students to assist them in registering to vote! While some faced challenges, weâre committed to helping everyone succeed and will meet again to resolve any issues. A big thank you to Jennifer Zachary from the school board for her support and for offering this valuable service through her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Together, weâre empowering our future leaders! đłïžâš

đ Happy Birthday to all our amazing students celebrating in September! We hope your day is filled with joy, laughter, and wonderful memories. Hereâs to a fantastic year ahead! đâš
