After a fun lunch break, the day wrapped up with inspiring talks from instructors at SoLaCC's Opelousas location, where students learned about the wide range of courses and opportunities available to them after high school. She highlighted the center's amazing services for women and families, as well as exciting volunteer opportunities for our students at their annual gala, "Be the Spar," on October 26 at Our Savior's Church. MACA's Renaissance Team and Student Council have been working hard the past few weeks getting our campus ready for "Pink Out Day" as part of OGH Foundation's "Paint the Town Pink." Every MACA student was given the opportunity to create their own ribbon with breast cancer facts, statistics, and reasons why we set aside October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This was a WHOLE school and community effort and our students and their families really pulled through! Thank you to ALL who have given your utmost efforts AND thank you to parents, grandparents, and alumni who donated towards our efforts as well! 💖 What's coming up next? • This week and next our 7th hour classes are getting creative as they are getting their doors ready for our annual Pink Out Day Door Decorating Contest. Let's see who wins this year's Pizza Party prize awarded by the Renaissance Team! Deadline to complete doors is next Wednesday, October 9th. • Next Friday is Pink Out Day! Our district's 25th Annual Post Secondary Carousel will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 at the Opelousas Civic Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.! Please register for a barcode before the event at www.StriveFair.com. During the fair, colleges will scan your barcode to send you more information about their schools. The day after the fair, you will receive a report with information on the colleges with whom you scanned.
