Good Evening GCES. We have been notified that the water line has been repaired and that full water pressure should be restored later this evening. The city will be under a boil advisory. It is recommended that students bring a bottle of water as filling stations will not be available for use. Have a good evening.

Good Afternoon GCES! Due to a break in a water line in the town of Grand Coteau that is affecting Grand Coteau Elementary and Grand Coteau Head Start, the school will close at 1:00 PM today. They are currently working to repair the break. Please make every effort to pick your child up if you are able to do so. Parents of car riders may report to the school at 12:45 PM to pick up their child(ren). Bus riders will be dismissed immediately following the car riders. Please contact the school if you have questions regarding school dismissal procedures and please monitor the school website and the local news for updates.

Good Afternoon GCES and Happy New Year. Here are a few reminders: 1. Staff returns to work on Monday, Jan. 3. 2. Students return to school on Tuesday, Jan. 4. 3. Masks/Face Coverings are mandated in All SLP facilities and buses for students, employees, and visitors from Jan. 3-Jan. 13. The board will make further decisions regarding the mandate. 4. With the rise in Covid Cases within our communities, please consider registering your student for our weekly Covid Testing Program. Good Morning GCES! We are informing you that a student has been diagnosed with COVID-19. They did have direct exposure with other members of our school community and was in attendance at the Family Christmas Night at AMS. Parents should continue to monitor their child’s health and the health of their families for COVID-19 symptoms. The St. Landry Parish Health units are offering free Covid testing if interested.

SLPSB is pleased to announce Learning Beyond The Bell--Academic and Enrichment Program - a yearlong after school learning program designed to enrich the academic and extracurricular life of our kindergarten - 12th grade students. The goal is to improve critical foundational skills in all core content areas. In addition, we will offer enrichment opportunities that will enable students to take virtual field trips, learn more about science and technology, engage in social living projects, play sports, and develop an appreciation for art, theater, music, and more.
