We will be following a staggered entry schedule for the first two days students return to school. The schedule is as follows: August 8th - Last names beginning with A-I; August 9th - Last names beginning with J-Z; August 12th - All students report. We are looking forward to our students returning to school for a successful school year!

Enroll in our Pre-k program today! We have openings for the following schools: Washington Elementary Grolee Elementary Grand Prairie Elementary Grand Coteau Elementary Please share this information with anyone in your area that has a 4 year old who meets the date requirement for entry into pre-k. Children must be 4 years old by September 30, 2024 to enter Pre-K. **Applications being accepted at SLP Resource Center**

All St. Landry Parish School Board Administrative offices and schools will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in observance of Juneteenth. We will not have summer school or Camp Accelerate on this day.

BUS SCHEDULE: If your child is participating in summer school to remove deficiency credits, please follow the link to view the bus satellite locations and pick-up times. Classes are Monday-Thursday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. https://5il.co/2n1qf.

Greetings Parents, Tomorrow is our students last day of school! The students only have a 1/2 day of school. Car riders can be picked up from school starting at 11:00 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. The bus riders will leave school no later than 12:00 p.m. Parents please ensure that someone is at home to receive your child/children no later than 12:00 p.m. Parents, Thank you for the Awesome Support you have provided to Washington Elementary All Year Long! SLPSB: Greetings Parents, Washington Elementary Zooiana Field Trip is tomorrow, all students should ride their regular school bus to school or come by their regular means of transportation. Car riders must arrive before 8:00 a.m., if not, they will miss the field trip bus departure. Students must wear their school uniform shirts or a school spirit shirt with their uniform pants and regular school shoes. Also, students can not bring cell phones, electronic devices, or toys for the field trip. The students will return home at their regular time. Car rides can also be picked up at their regular dismissal time. Thank you parents for your support!

Missing school and late arrivals are crucial factors that can affect their promotion to the next grade level. Please ensure that your child/children attend school daily and arrive by 7:55 am each day. 2:30 is the final pick-up time for car riders! April 22-26, 2024 is Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week (APAW), a dedicated week to recognize, appreciate and advocate for those who work with young people during out-of-school hours. Research shows that skilled and knowledgeable program staff are the backbone of program quality and are key to desired positive youth outcomes. Why is it important to recognize Afterschool Professionals? An estimated 7.8 million children participate in afterschool programs each year; for every child in an afterschool program, two more are waiting to get in. Every young person deserves quality afterschool experiences that positively impact their development. It takes skilled professionals to create these experiences. Because of the important role afterschool professionals play in kids’ lives, they deserve recognition and support!

Dear Parents, The pre-kindergarten through Second Grade Field Trip to the Zoo on tomorrow has been canceled. The field trip will be rescheduled soon! School is closed on Thursday, April 11, 2024. Please continue to be safe!

All 12-month employees are asked to report to their respective school/site when they are able to do so safely. We understand this is a difficult time for our community, and we appreciate your patience and flexibility. The closure will allow time for families to address any storm impacts while allowing employees to ensure schools are prepared to reopen once conditions improve. Additional updates will be provided through our normal communication channels as more information becomes available. Thank you for your understanding as we navigate these challenging circumstances together.

Due to severe weather forecasted for our area on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, all St. Landry Parish schools and administrative offices will be closed. This closure includes all after-school activities and sports practices. We anticipate resuming regular school hours on Thursday, April 11th. This decision was made after close consultation with the National Weather Service and the Office of Emergency Preparedness to ensure the safety of our students and staff, which remains our top priority.
