Bus 563 will not be running on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. Parents will have to provide transportation for their child to and from school on that day. Dropoff time is no earlier than 7:30AM. Pickup time is at 3:00PM. The dropoff and pickup location is on the side of the school building. For the safety and well being of your child please adhere the dropoff and pickup guidelines. Washington Elementary will be closed the entire day tomorrow Friday, March 11, 2022 to accommodate for travel to the North Central Boyâs basketball state championship game. GO CANES!!!

Good afternoon parents and guardians of Washington Elementary. To ensure the safety of your child and to provide for adquate communication we are asking that you send a signed note with your child or inform the school of any transportation changes BEFORE 12:30PM. Also, any child who misses the bus will be kept at the school and parents will be notified of needed transportation. Also K - 4th students whose parents are not there to get them off of the bus will be brought back to the school and parents will be notified of needed transportation. ****Students based at NCHS/Washington Elementary/Palmetto Elementary who attend CAPS, SLATS, MACA, and Washington Career Center will be excused from classes on March 11, 2022.


Our Beyond the Bell tutoring program will no longer be providing transportation for students. Beginning today, students who wish to remain in the program must be picked up by a parent or guardian. This may change but until further notice, students who cannot be picked up will be placed on their designated bus at the end of the day for dismissal. A MESSAGE FROM SLPSB: At the St. Landry Parish School Board Meeting last night, the Board voted to make mask wearing optional at schools, district facilities, and on the school bus. This Board action is effective immediately.

The school has partnered with the LifeShare Blood Center to offer an opportunity for BLOOD DONATIONS on that day as well. Tomorrow, the North Central High girls basketball team will be playing for the State Championship title at 4:00 p.m. in Hammond. The district has approved early dismissal @ 12PM on tomorrow for travel to the game. Parents please make proper arrangements to ensure someone is able to receive your child at home at this time on tomorrow. GO LADY CANES!!!

MACA will continue to accept applications into March. Students entering 7th-12th grade in the 2022-2023 school year and interested in creative writing, theatre, dance, band, chorus, or art are eligible to apply.
