Palmetto Elementary Reminders: *Friday is jean day! $1 jeans, $1 shirts, $1 boots , $1 hats *The school office is an extremely busy place in the afternoons, when possible, please refrain from checkouts after 2:30. *Cooler weather is in the air! All outerwear must be in the solid colors of navy, black, white, royal, or gray. Hoods are only allowed in Pre-K-2nd grades. (Dress code applies to all grade levels; including Pre-K.)

Palmetto Elementary If you have signed up your children and they are COVID testing weekly but you are not receiving their weekly COVID-19 test results via email or text, please reach out to Orion at support@orion.healthcare or (225-910-8308).

Mr. Evan’s bus (Melville) has broken down. He will not be able to complete his route. Some children have already been picked up and they are fine. We will make sure they get to school.

Palmetto Elementary Mrs. Tonya Pitcher’s bus will not be running tomorrow. Please make arrangements to get your students to and from school.

LOCKDOWN Practice drill: Palmetto Elementary School conducted a practice Lockdown Drill this morning. We will continue to do this periodically throughout each school year. This type of drill secures the school building and safely shelters all students, staff and visitors inside the building. The purpose of this drill is to keep the students safe from any danger outside or inside the building. During a lockdown drill all doors to the school building are locked and remain locked until the danger outside or inside the building is removed. Our teachers and students did an excellent job! A special THANKS to St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office for helping us keep our babies safe!

Palmetto Elementary Don't forget to join us tonight for our first PTO meeting of the school year! See you at 5:00! ATTENDANCE MATTERS Our school has a goal of 95% attendance each day! We fell short of meeting our August goal by 1%. All homerooms that has 95% attendance for the month of August were treated to popsicles! Please help us reach this goal for the month of September!

Palmetto Elementary: Kindergarten-Five brothers 4-wheeler club will be at school tomorrow at 1:00 to meet our new kindergarten students! They would love to meet the parents too! Please join us! Remember to sign in a the office upon arrival.

Palmetto Elementary Reminders: Kona Ice will be on campus tomorrow. Prices range from $3-$6. No school on Monday, September 5, 2022 due to Labor Day! Mobile Market-Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 9:30-12. PTO meeting-Wednesday, September 7 @ 5:30 in the cafeteria. All are invited to attend.
