LOCKDOWN Practice drill:
Palmetto Elementary School conducted a practice Lockdown Drill this morning. We will continue to do this periodically throughout each school year. This type of drill secures the school building and safely shelters all students, staff and visitors inside the building. The purpose of this drill is to keep the students safe from any danger outside or inside the building. During a lockdown drill all doors to the school building are locked and remain locked until the danger outside or inside the building is removed.
Our teachers and students did an excellent job! A special THANKS to St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office for helping us keep our babies safe!
