We are getting ready for our 1st Annual SLP Arts and STEAM Festival happening this Saturday from 10 AM to 3 PM around the Opelousas Courthouse square. We're excited to announce that our 1st Annual St. Landry Parish Schools Student Arts and STEAM Festival will happen this Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 10 AM to 3 PM on the Opelousas Courthouse Square. We're thankful to the Acadiana Center for the Arts for making this happen. There will be school bands, student artists, our robotics teams, and so much more. This event is free and open to everyone! Please come out and support our students and bring friends!

We have an over abundance of items in our school pantry. Please feel free to come by school today to shop. All items are free of charge and include: canned corn canned green beans canned mixed vegetable canned tuna chicken breast in a pouch peanut butter jelly rice spaghetti noodles canned mac and cheese cereal spaghetti o's

The Mobile Market is having technical difficulties and is running behind. They will be on campus around 10:00 am. this morning.

Prices range from $3 to $6. - The office is a busy place in the afternoon. When possible, please refrain from checking your child(ren) out after 2:30 pm.

Pre-K applications are now being accepted for the 2023-2024 school year. Students must turn 4 years old by September 30, 2023. If you have previously applied online, please pick up a paper application in the office to be completed. Intake appointments will be held on March 24, 2023 to review application packet with parents. Scheduling of intake appointments will take place when the packet is picked up in the office. Remember that spots are limited! Sign up early!

As a last farewell to the Valentine’s Day month, students are allowed to wear Crocs tomorrow (Friday) with regular school uniforms for $1!  You "Croc" my world!!!

Mrs. Amy's Melville bus is running late. Please expect your children to arrive home later than usual.

Palmetto Elementary will be having a Raising Cane's Night on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 3 pm to 8 pm. Go enjoy some Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers and help support our school. Just mention Palmetto Elementary at the register with your takeout order and 15% of the sales will be donated to our school. Make sure to get your receipt and bring it to school. The class that brings in the most Raising Cane's receipts will get a Raising Cane's class party.

Important information is going home with 3rd and 4th graders this week in regards to Louisiana Department of Education: Bulletin 1566 Section 705. Please read over this policy carefully and do not hesitate to call the office for further information. A parent meeting will be scheduled at a later date should the need arise.

MACA will have its annual Black History Program, " A Celebration of Culture," on February 16, 2023 at 6:00 PM. Admission is $5 (cash only). Tickets can only be purchased at the door. There will be no online ticket sales. We hope you will come out and watch.
