Grand Prairie Elementary is celebrating LEAP all month long! We've been busy decorating the hallways and classroom doors to get our students excited about the test! Stay tuned to our page to check out the awesome creations of our staff. This door was created by Mrs. Connie Bowen!
Ms. Jessica's 4th grade science class made solar ovens and "baked" S'mores in them! The students explained to Mrs. Renee that their ovens were made from shoe boxes, foil, and clear plastic wrap and used the sun's energy to power them.

The St. Landry Parish School Board will host CAMP ACCELERATE for all students in grades K - 8!
CAMP ACCELERATE will provide students an opportunity to continue their academic learning in English Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science while also engaging them in enrichment opportunities.

Ms. Rachelâs Kindergarten class celebrated Easter today with treats, arts and crafts, and lots of fun!

Mrs. Brandy's 3rd grade ELA class read about black bears and grizzly bears this week. They learned that there are many differences between these two types of bears. And today the students got to check out a real bear pelt, along with a bear's claws and skull. The class also got to see and feel the pelts of many other native Louisiana animals! Thank you to Mrs. Christina Speyrer for sharing these awesome objects with us!

Students in Mrs. Brandy's 3rd grade ELA class read about bearded dragons for homework this week. They learned about their physical characteristics, their habitat, and their diet. And today, they got to meet a real, live bearded dragon!
