
Good Afternoon GCES! Here are some reminders for this week:
-Early Dismissal tomorrow, January 31 at 12:25.
-Tomorrow we are celebrating the 100th day of school. Students may wear 100th-day of-school shirts, shirts with 100 items, or dress as if they are 100 years old. Uniform bottoms should be worn with shirts.
-The i-Ready Champions Parade will be held on February 9 at 1:00 for students who showed growth on the Winter test.

On Wednesday, January 31, we will celebrate the 100th day of school.


Good afternoon GCES. Due to the possibility of heavy rain and possible flooding, Learning Beyond the Bell Tutoring is cancelled tomorrow, January 24, 2024.

A MESSAGE FROM SLPSB:
Due to possible unsafe weather conditions from the forecasted arctic blast, all St. Landry Parish School District schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, and Wednesday, January 17, 2024.
With icy roads and freezing temperatures expected throughout the days ahead, we have made the decision to cancel classes, sporting activities, and practices to ensure the safety of our students, families, and staff.
Stay warm and safe at home. For continued updates on closures, follow our social media and check local news outlets.

If you suspect your child has talented music, theater, and/or visual art characteristics, contact your school for a referral to the School Building Level Committee. Talented referrals and evaluations are only conducted once a year in the Spring.

We would like to Thank everyone who contributed to the Toiletry Drive. The items were presented to the staff of The Thensted Outreach Center who will use them to support the elderly and needy in our community.

Our Pre-K students performed Christmas Carols at the Thensted Center Christmas Party for the Elderly and Veterans in our community. Great Job Pre K!!! Mr. Singleton also spoke to the audience about the positive impact a partnership with The Thensted Center has on GCE. Thanks to the staff for organizing a wonderful event!

Good evening GCES! You're invited to the Christmas Fais Do Do at Arnaudville Middle from 5:30-7:00 on Wednesday, December 13.This will be a fun, family event to kickstart the holiday season.



Good Afternoon GCES! We are partnering with the Thensted Outreach Center to collect items for the elderly in our community. Our school has been blessed, so weâd like to pay it forward by giving back to those who are in need.
We are asking you to donate the following items: Toilet Paper, paper towels, deodorant, dishwashing liquid, and dial bar soap.
You may turn in donations at the Front office by December 18, 2023. Thank you for your support!

Through our partnership with the Acadiana Center for the Arts, GCES enjoyed Hobey Ford's Animalia. The show explored the magical world of animals and features Hobeyâs original âfoamies,â puppets carved from large blocks of foam with intricate mechanical design that gives each puppet realistic movements.
