The SLPVLA is an alternative academic program to the traditional public school setting, offering students the opportunity to learn at their own pace, full time. The program provides St. Landry Parish Schools' students access to “virtual” standards-based courses delivered online and in conjunction with highly-qualified/certified instructors. Furthermore, the program offers students additional opportunities and support to maintain graduation goals while being academically successful.

Students desiring to participate within the SLPVLA will be enrolled at the local public school for which they are zoned to attend but will be students of SLPVLA.

The academy will follow the St. Landry Parish School District calendar for school days and holidays. However, students will have virtual access anytime to curriculum 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week.

Students are required to complete all virtual assessments on the campus of St. Landry Accelerated Transition School.
