About Us

SLATS is the new site for the St. Landry Parish Virtual Learning Academy (SLPVLA) and the for the HiSET Program.

SLPVLA is open to all St. Landry Parish students in grades 6-12. Transportation is provided to all SLPVLA students.

Grades 6-8: All middle school students are required to attend classes held at the SLPVLA on a daily basis.  Students will follow a course sequence aligned to the district’s Pupil Progression Plan and the Louisiana Department of Education's Bulletin 741. Students receive the same quality pupil education virtually and still remain a student at their zoned campus.  Students may still participate in sports, clubs, etc.

Grades 9-12: Students are afforded the opportunity to take classes in a blended environment. Students may pursue a skill in areas such as Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician, Child Care, ProStart, Carpentry, and Welding at our Virtual Campus as well as take dual enrollment courses all at no cost to the parents/students. Students pursuing a skill will have to attend those classes in person daily.  Dual enrollment online courses are provided through Northwestern State University and any student who

meets dual enrollment requirements may sign-up to receive both college and high school credit at no cost.  Students in virtual-only classes, including dual enrollment online, need only come to the virtual campus to test.  Students are still enrolled at their zoned campus allowing them to play sports, participate in clubs, attend prom, attend graduation, etc.
