
Palmetto Elementary car rider parents: the sign to park to begin the car rider dismissal line has been moved. It is now located right before the awning area, please do not pull up and park to wait for your children ahead of the sign due to the handicapped bus needing the walk way. Thanks!

If you suspect your child has talented music, theater, and/or visual art characteristics, contact your school for a referral to the School Building Level Committee. Talented referrals and evaluations are only conducted once a year in the Spring.

Greetings Palmetto Elementary family,
Just a quick reminder about our uniform policy per the district and state, jackets with hoods are not be allowed. Jackets must also be a solid blue, black, gray, and khaki. Beanies will be allowed during cold weather. Also, students MUST have their IDs daily, the replacement fee is $5. If these policies are not followed, consequences will be enforced for students.

Happy Parent & Family Engagement Month! This week, Mrs. Savanah Vaccaro, parent of Palmetto Elementary, is being recognized! "Mrs. Savanah Vaccaro serves as Palmetto Elementary's Family Advisor."


Schools will be closed Monday, November 20th - Friday, November 24th, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving break!


In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, the St. Landry Parish School Board administrative offices and all schools will close at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, and will remain closed for the rest of the week. We wish you all a safe and joyful Thanksgiving holiday.


The Academic and Personnel Committee Meetings will be held today, November 14, 2023, at 4:30 PM. The meetings will be streamed live to the SLP Facebook page, YouTube channel, and Streamyard (https://streamyard.com/watch/BHzevTnBdCEm).


Palmetto Elementary parents and guardians: If you ordered Thanksgiving lunch, your tickets will go home today, please check your child's folder. Due to the high response, lunch times are set and cannot be changed. Adhere to the lunch time given. If you are late, we may not be able to accommodate you.

Ms. Jacobs' bus will not be running for Learning Beyond the Bell this afternoon. All students in the Lebeau/ Morrow area will ride their regular buses home at school dismissal time.

We are ECSTATIC to announce that our school performance score is a 97.5 A, which is 2 points higher than the previous year. Palmetto Elementary is the top performing elementary school in our district, and 3rd amongst all schools in the parish! It truly takes a village; our dedicated staff, hardworking students, involved parents, and wonderful community are second to none! This proves that great teaching, parental involvement, and student attendance are the keys to success!!! Congratulations staff, students, parents, and community!
