📣👨‍👩‍👦Attention Parents of Children Ages Birth-5 (NEW to SLP Schools)📣👨‍👩‍👦 Join us on an Early Childhood Expedition Tour on November 10, 2023, where we will be visiting some of our district's high-quality PreK-4 schools and childcare providers. We will take a trolley ride to the following sites: Grand Coteau Elementary Futures Unlimited Preschool & Daycare Park Vista Elementary Children of Grace Daycare First Steps Developmental Center This free event is open to adults only. Please share this information with friends and family with children ages birth - 5 years who are not currently attending an SLP school.

Palmetto Elementary reminder: Open house will be held tonight from 4:00 to 5:30 pm. Visit your child's homeroom teacher to pick up the 1st nine weeks report cards.

Palmetto Elementary - There will be no Learning Beyond the Bell on Thursday, October 26, due to our annual Trunk or Treat.

Palmetto Elementary reminders: - Open House will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 4:00 to 5:30 pm. Visit your child's homeroom teacher to pick up the 1st nine weeks report card. If you are unable to attend open house, report cards will be given to students the next day. - Palmetto Elementary School will celebrate Red Ribbon Week from October 23 through October 27, 2023. Each day students can participate in dress up days. See the flyer that went home last week. - The annual Trunk or Treat celebration will be held on October 26, 2023 from 5:30 to 6:15 pm. Palmetto Elementary announcement: The Learning Beyond the Bell program began this week for students in grades 3 through 6. It is Monday through Thursday from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. Car riders will be dismissed at 4:45 pm. There is NO Beyond the Bell on Fridays.

Palmetto Elementary will be honoring Red Ribbon Week next week (October 23 through October 27). We will celebrate each day of the week with a different dress-up theme. Flyers with the different themes will be going home with your child this week. We encourage everyone to participate.

Palmetto Elementary is having their annual Trunk or Treat celebration on October 26, 2023 from 5:30 to 6:15 pm. Palmetto Elementary weekly reminders: - Flu and Covid vaccination consent forms are going home with your child. If you would like for your child to take either of these vaccinations, please fill out the form and return it to your child's homeroom teacher by Thursday, October 19, 2023. - Fall Picture Day will be on Thursday, October 19, 2023. Students must wear their uniform for pictures. - The coke fundraiser is still currently going on. If you need additional order forms, please contact the office. Money and order forms will be due to the office on Thursday, October 19, 2023. - On Friday, October 20, 2023, students may wear a shirt and jeans for a bag of candy. Palmetto Elementary: The coke fundraiser money and order forms will be due to the office on Thursday, October 19, 2023. If you need additional order forms, please contact the office. 25% of the proceeds will go toward employee appreciation, and the remaining 75% will be used for classroom/school resources.

Palmetto Elementary: Today, we conducted a Practice Lockdown Drill. We will do this periodically throughout the school year. This type of drill secures the school building and safely shelters all students, staff, and visitors inside the building. The purpose of this drill is to keep the students safe from any danger outside or inside the building. Our teachers and students did an excellent job! A special thanks to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office for helping us keep our babies safe!

Palmetto Elementary will have our fall picture day on Thursday, October 19, 2023. Students must wear their school uniform for pictures.

Palmetto Elementary reminder: On Friday, October 13, 2023, students may wear a shirt and jeans for a bag of candy. Please attempt to get candy with no nuts since we have students with nut allergies.

Kona Ice will be at Palmetto Elementary on tomorrow, October 13, 2023. Prices range from $3 to $6. Remember to bring in those refillable cups.
