OPELOUSAS, LA -- Leonville Elementary will be closed to students today, September 3, 2021. There be no virtual instruction. Overnight, an electric pole near the school was hit resulting in a power outage and downed power lines on the campus.

All St. Landry Parish schools and facilities will be open to students Tuesday, August 31, 2021, with the exception of Cankton Elementary, Eunice Junior High (follow pre-hurricane hybrid schedule), Port Barre Middle, Port Barre High School, and Washington Career and Technical Education Center. The above-mentioned schools will continue at-home learning for students. You will receive additional information from your school’s administrator.
Students attending the St. Landry Parish Virtual Learning Academy will be contacted with additional information regarding coursework.
All SLPSB schools and facilities will be closed Monday, August 30, due to the impending landfall of Hurricane Ida. Continue to follow our district app, district Facebook page, local news outlets, and the district website for updates on the reopening of schools next week.
