TALENT EDUCATION
If you suspect your child of having Talented characteristics in MUSIC, THEATRE AND/OR VISUAL ART contact your childâs school for a referral to the School Building Level Committee. Talented referrals and evaluations are only conducted once a year in the Spring.


GPE Parents: Students at Grand Prairie Elementary School will pivot to remote learning TOMORROW, Friday, January 7, 2022, due to a number of staff members out on quarantine or isolating due to COVID 19.
Students will resume in-person learning on Monday, January 10, 2022. Instructions concerning remote learning will be communicated to you through your childâs teacher.
Please note that while we have an obligation to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all community members, we also must protect the privacy of individuals affected by this virus.
Please contact the school if you have questions regarding school closures.


GPE parents: SLP's Learning Beyond the Bell after school program start date has been pushed back to TUESDAY, JANUARY 18th. Please make sure that your child knows that they will not be staying after school this week (January 4-7) or next week (January 10-14).


GPE parents: Mr. Rosette's bus, BUS 512, WILL NOT BE RUNNING tomorrow, WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 5th or THURSDAY, JANUARY 6th. We will send out a message before Friday to let you know if he will run then. Thank you for your patience!

GPE Parents: Just a reminder that students report back to school on Tuesday, January 4th and the district has reinstated the mask mandate for students and staff. Learning Beyond the Bell after school program will begin again on Monday, January 10th. Employees will be on campus tomorrow if you need to contact the school. We are excited to see our GPE students on Tuesday and to begin the second half of our school year!


GPE Parents: School will be dismissing early on Friday, December 17th. Buses will depart at 12:10 and parents may begin picking up students at 12:15. Merry Christmas!!

GPE Parents: Mr. Darrell Edward (Bus #269) WILL NOT BE RUNNING this morning, Monday, December 13th. He WILL BE running to bring students home this afternoon. If this changes, we will update you sometime today.


GPE Parents: An update on Mr. Kenneth Rosette's bus (#512). Mr. Rosette will be out until further notice. A substitute driver will be running his route tomorrow, Thursday, December 9th and Friday, December 10th, ONLY IN THE MORNING. Please find afternoon transportation for your students for THURSDAY and FRIDAY AFTERNOON. Beginning Monday, December 13th, the substitute driver will be passing both MORNING and AFTERNOON. Also, please be aware that the bus may be passing a little earlier than usual. Thank you for your patience and cooperation!

Please make arrangements to drop off and pick up your child today. More information will be forthcoming. Car rider line begins at 3:15 and passes through the gym parking lot before entering the main campus.


GPE Parents: Santa will be visiting Grand Prairie Elementary on December 15th to take pictures with our students! Students may dress in PJs to take their picture with Santa! You may begin sending the $5 fee now. If you'd like your children to take pictures with their siblings in another grade, please send a note with this information. Also, community members are welcome to make an appointment to come take a picture with Santa. Call the school to schedule an appointment! 337-826-3391


GPE parents: LEARNING BEYOND THE BELL HAS BEEN CANCELLED for today. Because of inclement weather, the after school program is cancelled for today, Monday, December 6th. Thank you for your patience and cooperation!
