Palmetto Elementary students: Mr. Evan's bus # 544 is not running Monday (3/18/24) or Tuesday (3/19/24).

Palmetto Elementary reminders: Tomorrow, Friday 3/15, Jean Day- $1 jeans, $1 shirt, $1 hat, $1 boots/crocs/yezzys Kona Ice will be on campus, prices range from $3-$6. Keep selling those Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and help our school furnish our new building that will house our lower elementary students! Work on your ELA/Math BINGO board! Complete bingo and receive a free recess pass; get a blackout and receive a pizza party and free recess pass!

The Magnet Academy for Cultural Arts is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 academic year. Families can conveniently apply online at https://www.slpsb.org/o/maca or obtain an application directly from the MACA campus. Please visit the school's website or contact the office for more information.

Palmetto Elementary stakeholders: Your child will go home with a ELA/Math Bingo sheet in their communication folder this week. This is our Parental Involvement project for the month of March. Please help your student to complete the bingo sheet with you. Evidence of each square being completed needs to be sent to the school's Facebook page or the homeroom teacher's remind account. Students will receive a free recess for a bingo. If they get a blackout (all squares colored), they will receive a pizza party with a free recess.

Join us for the 2nd Student Arts Expo in St. Landry Parish – a free and family-friendly festival of student artwork, live performances, and fun arts activities. The festival is March 23, 2024, from 10 AM to 3 PM in the Opelousas courthouse square. This festival is a celebration of student-artists in all artistic disciplines from every corner of St. Landry Parish. 🎨🎼🎷🎤

The SLP Early Learning Network is now accepting applications for children aged birth to 5. Interested parties can apply at the site for which your child is zoned to attend or online at https://earlylearningnetworkslp.org.

It brings us GREAT pride and excitement to announce that our 6th grade team placed FIRST today in their competition at the Black History Quiz Bowl at Southern University!!! We are beyond thrilled and ecstatic at the achievement of our students! Beaming BRONCO joy and spirit so much we can't contain it!!!

Congratulations to our A-team 5th Graders who won FIRST place at the Annual Black History Quiz bowl at Southern University today!!! To say we are proud as a school is an understatement, we are ELATED with yall's accomplishment! This proves that dedication, studying and hard-work can yield excellent results!
