Good afternoon all parents and guardians of Palmetto Elementary students!!! Tomorrow is FUN DAY!!!!! We are very excited for a great day with our students! Due to an issue with shipping from our supplier, our fun day t-shirts will not be here until last this afternoon. Please send students tomorrow with an appropriate t-shirt and school appropriate shorts with water shoes, crocs, or slides. They will receive their t-shirts first thing in the morning! They will also need a change of clothes and towel! The Fun Day concession and store will be open also! Items range from $1 to $5!

April 22-26, 2024 is Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week (APAW), a dedicated week to recognize, appreciate and advocate for those who work with young people during out-of-school hours. Research shows that skilled and knowledgeable program staff are the backbone of program quality and are key to desired positive youth outcomes. Why is it important to recognize Afterschool Professionals? An estimated 7.8 million children participate in afterschool programs each year; for every child in an afterschool program, two more are waiting to get in. Every young person deserves quality afterschool experiences that positively impact their development. It takes skilled professionals to create these experiences. Because of the important role afterschool professionals play in kids’ lives, they deserve recognition and support!

State Testing !!! Please help us provide a positive testing environment and experience for our students. 1. Please NO absences or arriving late. 2. NO cellphones on campus. 3. No visitors on campus Test Taking TIPS: 1. Get a GOOD NIGHT’S sleep and go to bed early. 2. Encourage students to try their BEST and use ALL strategies they have learned. 3. Listen carefully to instructions and ask questions 4. Read the entire test and answer the easier questions first. 5. Use your time wisely and stay focused. 6. Check your work and make sure your answers are complete. Testing Schedule: LEAP: 3rd Monday, April 22nd-Tuesday April 23rd 4th - 6th - Wednesday, April 24th- Tuesday 30th.
