ALL ST. LANDRY PARISH PUBLIC SCHOOLS TO DISMISS EARLY TODAY
May 18, 2021
OPELOUSAS, LA -- Due to forecasted precipitation causing possible hazardous road conditions and widespread flooding parish-wide, all schools and head start centers will dismiss early today, May 18, 2021. The overall safety of our students and employees necessitates the early dismissal of schools.
Dismissal times are as follows:
SLATS/Alternative - 1:30 PM;
MACA/BioMed - 1:40 PM;
High School/Junior High - 2:00 PM;
Head Start - 2:00 PM;
North Central/Palmetto - 2:00 PM;
Elementary/Middle Schools - 2:20 PM - 2:40 PM (This is dependent on bus arrival from first routes.);
*Car riders should contact the school for pick-up times.
We will continue to consult with school administrators, the National Weather Service, and the Office of Emergency Preparedness in the decision-making progress regarding the closing of schools.

Due to the projected weather concerns, we will be dismissing early today. We will dismiss car riders at 1:45 and bus riders at 2:00. Please make plans accordingly.

All buses are being held at Palmetto Elementary until the tornado warning is over. Please expect your children home later than usual.
Due to North Central’s graduation, Palmetto Elementary will have early dismissal on Thursday, May 20, 2021. Car riders will be dismissed at 12 and bus riders shortly after.
Due to impending inclement weather conditions, Fun Day has been rescheduled for Friday, May 28, 2021.
Mrs. Linda Haynes is not running tomorrow.
Virtual Technology Return:
Will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 between 10-12. All technology needs to be returned at this time This includes: tablets, Chromebook, chargers, and hotspots. Below is the price list for lost items:

It was a snake that caused today’s events!! It crawled onto the transformer causing it to catch fire! We are back up and running. Tomorrow we will continue with 5th grade testing and begin 3rd and 4th grade testing.
