North Central Hurricane basketball team will travel to Lake Charles on Friday to play for the state championship! For this reason, school will be closed on Friday so that supporters can travel to the game!

Now is the time to sign up for our AWARD WINNING (awarded the Excellent Honor Roll in Early Learning Performance for the 2020-2021 school year) pre-kindergarten class for the 2022-2023 school year.

Superintendent Jenkins has approved a school closure for the North Central High School zone on Friday, March 11, 2022. This school closure impacts the following schools--North Central High, Palmetto Elementary, Washington Elementary, CAPS, SLATS, MACA, Washington Career Center, and the Head Start centers of the zone

A MESSAGE FROM SLPSB: At the St. Landry Parish School Board Meeting last night, the Board voted to make mask wearing optional at schools, district facilities, and on the school bus. This Board action is effective immediately.

North Central High School Lady Canes will travel to Hammond on Friday to play in the state championship game at 4:00. So that everyone can enjoy the game, school will dismiss at 12:00 for bus riders and 11:45 for car riders.

MACA will continue to accept applications into March. Students entering 7th-12th grade in the 2022-2023 school year and interested in creative writing, theatre, dance, band, chorus, or art are eligible to apply. GIVE BLOOD!!!
On Friday, March 4, 2022 our 5th grade students will be participating in Career Day at Washington Elementary School. The LifeShare Bus will be there from 8:30-11:30 for anyone wanting to give blood! You will receive a free T-shirt and if our school can get 18 units of blood, the ENTIRE school will receive a pizza party!

Beyond the Bell
Mrs. Doucette will be picking up her Beyond the Bell students at 4:00 today. Please expect your students home earlier than usual.

St. Landry Parish School Board uniform policy. All students in grades Pre-k-5th are expected to follow.
UNIFORM SHIRT:
Plain-collared white, navy, or royal polo shirt with no logo with either short or long sleeves. All shirts must be tucked in at the student's waist.
(An undershirt may be worn under the uniform top. The undershirt must be white, gray, navy or royal blue and the sleeve cannot be longer than the sleeve length of the uniform top.)
UNIFORM BOTTOM:
Classic, traditional, dark khaki or navy pants or walking shorts. Uniform bottoms must fit at the waist. No cargo pockets.
UNIFORM BOTTOMS FOR GIRLS:
Jumpers and skirts in khaki or navy.
BELTS:
Black, brown, khaki, navy, or royal belt must be worn. Pre-K-2nd grade students may wear uniform bottoms with an elastic waistband without having to wear a belt.
SOCKS:
Must be worn at all times. They must be solid navy, white, black, brown, or royal with no emblem or logo.
SHOES:
Closed shoe (front and back)
No boots are allowed (cowboy or rubber)
SWEATSHIRT/JACKET:
Must be waist length with a tight, ribbed, elastic bottom, must be plain, solid colored in black, white, gray, navy with no emblem, logo, or marking. Students may wear optional school color sweatshirt with school logo.

On Tuesday, February 22, 2022 students are invited to were a tutu or tie with a school appropriate shirt and uniform bottoms.

Students may wear Mardi Gras shirts or a green, yellow, or purple shirt with jeans.
