Palmetto Elementary parents grades 2 & 3: if you are interested in signing your student up for flea/fly football or cheerleading in Port Barre, please see info below: ‼️‼️ FLEA/FLY UPDATE‼️‼️ We are planning for flea fly registration/fittings! Weather permitting, second and final day will be SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th from 4-5:30 PM at the PBHS gym! We plan on picking teams early next week! And practice will be announced by coaches! We are still accepting volunteers for cheerleading & football coaches!!

Attn Palmetto Elementary Parents: Mrs Jacob's bus riders will be riding Mrs Payne's bus today 9/12/24 and tomorrow 9/13/24.

Important St. Landry Parish School District Announcement: After consulting with the Office of Emergency Preparedness, all schools and administrative offices will be open tomorrow, Thursday, September 12, 2024. However, please be aware that there may be transportation delays due to the aftermath of Hurricane Francine. Given the extensive geography of our parish, we understand that some areas may face challenges. If your family is experiencing storm-related difficulties that prevent your child from attending school, please reach out to the school to inform them. We are pleased to inform you that the St. Landry Parish School Board is participating in a meal service option called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). All enrolled students in the District are eligible to receive a breakfast and lunch meal at NO CHARGE to your household throughout the school year. The schools listed below (all schools) are participating for SY 2024-25:

Good afternoon Palmetto Elementary parents and students: Please do not forget about your summer reading and projects that will be due at the beginning of school. Click the link for information about grade levels and book available are attached! We do have books located in the office that can be checked out and students may come in to AR test between the hours of 8:30-2:00!

Please be reminded of our student clear bag guidelines for the 2024-2025 school year. Have a great school year! Be inspired. Be determined. Be unstoppable!

Dear Palmetto Elementary stakeholders, please fill out the following survey from the 2023-2024 school year. All students whose guardian complete the survey will receive a free Jean day pass. * also included is a survey about changing a school graphic located on the exterior of our building. We will be following a staggered entry schedule for the first two days students return to school. The schedule is as follows: August 8th - Last names beginning with A-I; August 9th - Last names beginning with J-Z; August 12th - All students report. We are looking forward to our students returning to school for a successful school year!
