On February 28th, 2025, St. Landry Parish Councilman Jody White & Adam Olivier of Acadian Ambulance presented Lawtell Elementary School with approximately 40 new first aid kits!Β Β Councilman White stated the venture began when he received a call from Coach Mona Wilson, the Safety Committee Chairperson at Lawtell Elementary. Coach Wilson stated that every school has school safety members and should have a nurses office!Β Β She then stated how great it would be if each classroom had its own first aid kit for minor scrapes & bruises!Β Β That would save so much time in which a kid and/or teacher would have to leave class to address the minor ailment!Β Β Councilman White stated that he began making phone calls and received a very positive response from Adam Olivier and Chris Ledee at Acadian Ambulance.Β Β Both guys worked toward the goal and was able to acquire approximately 40 First Aid Kits for the school!Β Β A small presentation was made and Acadian Ambulance was very proud to be a major contributor.Β Β Acadian Ambulance then announced that Lawtell Elementary was the first school, however, they would be willing to provide First Aid Kits to a different elementary school in our parish each school year!Β Β Councilman White expressed that Acadian Ambulance has made a very positive effort toward helping our kids in St. Landry Parish!!
