This week Glendale is celebrating Red Ribbon Week. Each day students and teachers dress as different things. On Tuesday it was twins day. You could dress like a friend or we actually have some twins!

2nd grade students at Glendale learned all about timelines by creating their project in Social Studies.
1 st grade students have been working on math facts. Xtra
Math awards a certificate upon mastering all Beginning
Addition facts in under 6 seconds. Students earning
certificates in addition are Braedon, Rynlee, A.J., Aizlyn, Bryleigh,
and Draysten .
Elias and Carter have achieved Xtra Math
certificates in addition and subtraction fact fluency.

Per the usual free dress requirements, all clothing should be appropriate to wear to school with nothing revealing or vulgar. Any students not in compliance will be sent to the office to call home.
Also, Pumpkin Decorating contest is Friday, Oct. 27. Must be in by 8 a.m. for contest.

Glendale Elementary: We had a lockdown drill today at school. Our students and staff did amazing! We will periodically do this throughout the school year. This type of drill secures the school building and safety shelters all students and staff inside the building. The purpose of this drill is to keep the students safe from any danger inside or outside the building!
A special thanks to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's office for helping us keep our babies safe!
The school spirit store is open again to purchase school appropriate jackets and sweatshirts! Uniform policy will be enforced. Also don't forget to order spirit shirts if you haven't already!!

The bus is not running for Learning Beyond the Bell today. If your child is in the program and you have not contacted us to let us know that you will come pick them up, then we will be putting them on their regular bus and they will go home at the normal time. Thank you!

-Friday, Jean Day for a bag of candy! Candy will be redistributed to students during trick or treat on campus!
-Pumpkin Decorating contest going on now. Last day to turn in pumpkins is Friday, October 27th. We've already got the cutest pumpkins coming in!
- School spirit store will be opening again soon to purchase jackets, sweatshirts, and spirit shirts.

- Drugs don't make cents penny drive is ongoing. Please send your pennies to school to your child's homeroom teacher. The class with the most weight in pennies receives a pizza party!

Glendale Elementary Parents/Guardians - REMINDER - Please see the attached graphic regarding the SLP Uniform Policy for Outerwear. Glendale students had a lesson today on Fire Prevention. Thank You to the Eunice Fire Department for coming to Glendale to educate our students on fire safety.
