OPELOUSAS, LA -- Hazardous road conditions, widespread water and power outages, parish-wide diminished water pressure and boil advisories, as well as ensuring the overall safety of our students and employees necessitates the closing of schools Thursday, February 18, 2021. Additionally, administrative offices will be closed to the public.
We will continue to consult with school administrators, the National Weather Service, and the Office of Emergency Preparedness in the decision-making progress regarding the re-opening of schools.
Stay informed of future decisions regarding school re-openings via our SLP app, our district website and our social media pages.

OPELOUSAS, LA -- St. Landry Parish Public schools and administrative offices will be closed Wednesday, February 17, 2021. Hazardous road conditions and power outages have resulted in the district’s decision to close facilities for our students, bus drivers, and employees’ safety.
We will continue to monitor road conditions and consult with the NWS and the Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEM) in order to ensure the safety of our students and employees. Stay informed of future decisions regarding school re-openings via our SLP app, our district website and our social media pages.

This message is ONLY for 5th grade Creswell Middle School VLA students. 5th grade CMS students will begin receiving face to face instruction every day for face to face students on Wednesday, February 10th. If you want to remove your child from the virtual program and return to every day face to face instruction please contact the school office at 337-942-4892 for further instructions. February Hybrid Schedule
A message from Mrs. Roberson,
Based on new COVID positive cases among staff members at Creswell Middle School, effective Tuesday, December 15, 2020, we will change our mode of instruction from hybrid to completely virtual.
Group A will return home today with a Chromebook and all instructional materials needed to work virtually. Students in the "B" Group may begin picking up devices between 3:15 PM and 4:30 PM today. Those who are unable to pick up devices today may go by the school tomorrow morning to retrieve a Chromebook and instructional materials. Only students will be allowed in the building to receive materials during distribution times.
I’m sorry for the inconvenience but our students’ safety is our top priority.
You will receive additional information later today or tomorrow regarding lunch distribution.
